Basic Obedience covers fostering trust, learning desirable behaviors, and building skills that will build communication skills between human and canine. The 10 foundational skills practiced in a Canine Good Citizen class help canines learn to behave appropriately around others - including in public spaces. Pet parents are equal participants in CGC, learning effective ways to cue and work with their canine to build trust in one another.
For those who attend: As the location may be busy, people should ensure that if their canine is very shy or reactive, this may not be a good class for them. There absolutely will be no on leash meetings. Closed-toed shoes and well fitting equipment for the canine are required.
